MIFCO CEO meets Thinadhoo City fishermen

Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Mohamed Anas has met with fishermen in Gaafu Dhaalu Thinadhoo to discuss challenges facing the fisheries sector and ways to improve services provided to fishermen.

The meeting was held during his visit to MIFCO facilities across the country following his appointment as CEO. As part of the visit, he inspected MIFCO's operations in Thinadhoo City and met with local fishermen to hear their concerns and gather feedback on the company's services.

During the discussions, fishermen shared challenges affecting their work and raised issues requiring attention from the company. MIFCO said the meeting also focused on identifying ways to further strengthen services provided to the fishing community. Anas assured fishermen that the company would work to address the concerns raised and seek practical solutions to the issues highlighted.

The CEO also reviewed progress on the Thinadhoo Fisheries Complex project, which is being developed to facilitate fish procurement, cooling and storage services on the island. MIFCO said the project is expected to ease difficulties faced by fishermen in the atoll.

MIFCO stated that the company remains committed to working closely with fishermen to address sector challenges and support the sustainable development of the fisheries industry.
