The Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) filed 263 cases in court during May, according to statistics released by the institution.

The figures show that the office received 143 cases during the month, while prosecutors provided legal advice to investigative agencies on 447 occasions.

The PGO also reported that its attorneys attended 1,150 court hearings by the end of May. This marks a decrease compared to April, when prosecutors attended a total of 2,710 hearings.

The statistics also revealed that court filings and legal guidance to investigative authorities remained among the key functions carried out by the office during the month.

The Prosecutor General's Office serves as the State's principal prosecuting authority and is responsible for pursuing criminal cases on behalf of the State while providing legal guidance to investigative agencies within the criminal justice system.
