MACL hosts stakeholder event to bolster tourism and aviation links

The Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) hosted a pivotal stakeholder event at Velana International Airport, aimed at strengthening collaborations across the aviation, tourism, and maritime sectors.
The event brought together key representatives from the Ministry of Tourism, Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO), Maldives Association of Travel Industry (MATI), National Boating Association of Maldives (NBAM), and Maldives Yacht Association (MAYA), along with airline officials and MACL’s leadership team.
Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed, CEO and Managing Director of MACL, highlighted the nation’s progress toward welcoming two million tourists by the end of 2024. He credited this milestone to the strong partnerships among industries and outlined MACL’s efforts to boost connectivity through new airline routes and enhanced cargo services.
Shareef also shared plans for infrastructure upgrades and the integration of advanced technologies to optimise airport operations and enhance customer experiences.
Shareef expressed gratitude for the collective efforts of partners, emphasising the importance of sustained collaboration for long-term success.
The event also served as a networking platform, fostering stronger alliances and reinforcing the Maldives' reputation as a leading destination for travellers worldwide.
