A Maldivian man reported missing during his Umrah pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia has been found safe and well.

Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed confirmed on 28 December 2024 that the pilgrim, 63-year-old Hussain Mohamed Didi from Fuvahmulah, has been located unharmed.

Hussain had travelled to Saudi Arabia on 27 December 2024 with the Yalamlam Hajj and Umrah Group. He was reported missing after completing his Umrah pilgrimage and was last seen wearing Ihram, with a Yalamlam group pass around his neck.

In a statement, the Yalamlam Hajj and Umrah Group expressed gratitude to the authorities and everyone involved in locating the piligrim.
