Maldivian Aero has announced plans to lease an Airbus A330-200 as part of its efforts to enhance international connectivity.
The national airline is seeking the aircraft on a five-year lease term to increase flights to overseas destinations. The deadline for bid submissions has been set for March 7, 2025, with the evaluation process concluding on March 25, 2025, when the winning bid will be announced.
With the addition of a new Airbus A330-200 in January 2025, Maldivian Aero's fleet now comprises 24 aircraft.
During his Presidential Address, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu outlined Maldivian’s strategic plans to expand its international network. As part of this initiative, the airline is set to receive an additional wide body aircraft in October 2025, which will pave the way for direct flights to select European destinations.
