Bhutanese Ambassador pays farewell visit to Foreign Minister

The Ambassador of Bhutan to the Maldives, Rinchen Kuentsyl, has paid a farewell call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Abdulla Khaleel, marking the conclusion of his tenure as the Non-Resident Ambassador of Bhutan to the Maldives.
The meeting took place on Monday morning at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Malé. During the discussions, Minister Dr Khaleel congratulated Ambassador Kuentsyl on the successful completion of his tenure, during which he was based in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The Minister also expressed his appreciation for the Ambassador’s efforts in strengthening the bilateral ties between the Maldives and Bhutan.
Ambassador Kuentsyl, in turn, conveyed his gratitude to the Government of the Maldives for the support and cooperation extended during his tenure. He also highlighted the shared concerns and challenges faced by both nations as small states and expressed his hope for continued collaboration in areas of mutual interest, particularly environmental conservation and climate adaptation and mitigation.
The meeting was attended by Foreign Secretary Fathimath Inaya, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Mohamed Shahyb, Additional Secretary Ms Aminath Abdulla Didi, and Assistant Director Mr Ibrahim Naushad.
