Parliament to take Ramadan break, first session to be shortened

Abdulla Rifau, MP from the Maafannu South Constituency, has proposed shortening Parliament's first session to accommodate the upcoming Ramadan holiday break.
During today's sitting, the Speaker forwarded this amendment to Parliament's General Committee for review.
Rifau's amendment to Parliament proposes shortening the year's first session. According to his proposal, sittings during the first session would be held from January 1 until the end of the month. The second session would run from April through July, whilst the third session would be held from September through November.
The amendment also specifies that this year's first session will conclude by the end of February.
