President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has established the Maldives Transportation Safety Board.

President established this agency under the authority granted to him by Article 116 of the Constitution. 

This newly established agency will operate under the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation. 

According to the President’s Office, the Maldives Transportation Safety Board was established to investigate accidents occurring in land, sea, and air transportation. 

The President has emphasised the importance of having a dedicated agency to investigate these accidents. 

Therefore, with the establishment of this agency, all transportation-related accidents will now be investigated by the Maldives Transportation Safety Board.
