Eydhafushi Police have begun gathering information on minors who are found outside their homes without parental supervision after 10:00 p.m.

The objective, according to officials, is to prevent juvenile delinquency and promote a safer community atmosphere. The data collected will be used to support the reintegration of these children into society through appropriate social and community services.

In parallel with these social measures, technical upgrades are also underway to strengthen public security. The installation of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras in the island’s port area has commenced, marking a significant step towards improved surveillance. These cameras were donated by the Eydhafushi Council as part of its commitment to collaborative safety efforts.

The police and the council are working in close coordination to implement these upgrades efficiently. As part of the ongoing project, fibre-optic cables are currently being laid in the port area to support the operation of the new CCTV system.
