A 22-year-old man was injured in a violent altercation involving a sharp object at a café in Maafannu, Malé, on Monday afternoon, according to the Maldives Police Service.

The incident was reported to authorities at 3:28 p.m., and the injured individual is currently receiving treatment at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

Police have confirmed that the altercation occurred inside the café, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
