BML fosters an environment for employees to thrive: CEO

The Bank of Maldives (BML) is committed to fostering a work environment where every employee can flourish, according to CEO and Managing Director, Mohamed Shareef.
BML recently held its annual "Staff Awards" ceremony at Crossroads, recognising and celebrating the outstanding contributions of its employees. The awards were presented by BML Chairman Ahmed Ali Habeeb, CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef, and members of the BML Board of Directors.
Speaking at the ceremony, Shareef emphasised that the Bank’s greatest asset is its people. He highlighted that the courage, creativity, and steadfast determination of BML’s employees are the cornerstones of the organisation’s continued success. Over the past year, the Bank has introduced professional development initiatives, flexible working arrangements, and a range of programmes tailored to support the diverse needs of its workforce demonstrating its strong commitment to employee wellbeing and growth.
At the ceremony, Director of Financial Transactions Huzaath Ali was honoured with the Best Employee Award. The CEO Award for Outstanding Achievement was jointly awarded to Hussain Rasheed, Head of Customer Experience, and Abdullah Sobah, Head of Premium Banking. Meanwhile, the Leadership Excellence Award was presented to Mohamed Saavee Fathuhulla, in charge of the Digital Technology Division.
In addition to the special awards, several other employees and teams were recognised for their exceptional performance over the past year.
Throughout the year, BML has undertaken significant initiatives to invest in its employees’ professional development and to expand its services across the Maldives.
