MET Office forecasts adverse weather conditions for the next 24 hours

Maldives Meteorological Service (MET) has forecasted adverse weather conditions over the next 24 hours.
According to the MET office, heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected for the next 24 hours due to the cyclone in the region.
Over the next 24 hours, winds will be west to northwesterly in southern atolls at 9-18 miles per hour, elsewhere at 8-18 miles per hour, gusting at 40 miles per hour during showers.
According to the MET Office, seas are expected to be calm in the north, while rough conditions are forecasted elsewhere with a wave height of 3-6 feet.
In the past 24 hours, the heaviest rainfall was recorded in Vaavu Rakeedhoo, with 72.3mm of rain recorded.
The MET office expects the weather conditions to improve after Wednesday and has advised the public to pay special attention to the weather, especially when travelling by sea.
