Former Commissioner of Police (CP), Ali Shujau, has retired from public service. 

The former CP tendered his resignation from the post on April 25, 2025. 

CP Shujau’s resignation came amid public outrage over the investigation into the April 18 incident when a young woman was found gravely injured on a rooftop. 

He was appointed as the first CP under the current Administration on December 25, 2023. Prior to his career in law enforcement, he worked in the education sector, serving as a teacher and a principal.
