The Maldives Police Service has revealed that the vessel reported missing on Sunday night has been located. 

The “Brilliant Carrier” vessel, travelling from Gaaf Dhaal Gadhdhoo, was reported missing around 8 p.m. on Sunday. 

The search operation to locate this vessel started on Monday, and it was found this morning around 5 a.m. in Laamu Atoll. 

According to the Police, five people were on board, including three Maldivians and two foreigners.

The last time the Police were able to contact the boat was around 2:40 a.m. last night. The Captain informed the police that the vessel was about to enter Huvadhu Atoll, however, the police lost contact with them after that. 

Police revealed that when the Coast Guard located the vessel, its engine was out of order, and the passengers onboard were in good health. 

Police stated that they are now providing the necessary assistance to the vessel.
