A groundbreaking ceremony was held in Alifu Alifu Bodufolhudhoo to mark the beginning of construction on a new, modern power plant aimed at improving electricity services on the island.

The ceremony was held in the presence of Fenaka Corporation’s Managing Director Hussain Fahmy, Bodufolhudhoo MP Hassan Zareer, and President of the Bodufolhudhoo Council Shujau Adam.

According to Fenaka, the new facility is part of efforts to expand the island’s electricity supply and enhance service quality for residents. Once completed, the power plant is expected to significantly strengthen the island's energy infrastructure.

Local officials and community members expressed hope that the improved power supply would contribute to both the economic and social development of Bodufolhudhoo.
