The Islamic University of Maldives (IUM) has opened registration for ‘Riveli 2025,’ a flagship event aimed at promoting a strong research culture among postgraduate students and the wider academic community.

Now in its third year, Riveli provides a platform for students to present their research, exchange ideas, and receive expert guidance. According to IUM, the initiative is open to postgraduate students from any higher education institution in the Maldives.

The highlight of the event will be the ‘Proposal Pitch,’ a competitive segment where participants present their research proposals within a five-minute timeframe. In addition to the main competition, the event will feature quizzes and other engaging activities, offering participants opportunities to win instant prizes and gain valuable insights.

Key objectives of Riveli include enhancing students’ research, presentation, and communication skills, recognising academic achievements, and fostering a collaborative research environment through mentorship and peer engagement.

Past participants have praised the event as a motivating experience, citing the opportunity to network with peers from different institutions and receive constructive feedback as key benefits.

Registration for Riveli 2025 remains open until 1:00 p.m. on May 15. The event is scheduled to take place from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on May 31, 2025, at the IUM Hall.
