The Maldives Police Service has announced that vehicles parked illegally on Majeedhee Magu in Malé will be towed if they obstruct public transportation.

Authorities have stated that action will be taken against drivers who violate parking regulations. Impounded vehicles will be held for a period of 48 hours before being released. The police have urged motorists to exercise caution and park only in designated parking zones to avoid penalties.

In their statement, the police expressed gratitude to the public for their continued cooperation in supporting efforts to maintain the safety and security of Malé’s roads.

Majeedhee Magu, known as the city's busiest thoroughfare, frequently experiences congestion due to vehicles parked along both sides of the road. The improper parking of four-wheelers and motorcycles in various sections of Majeedhee Magu often creates significant inconvenience for both commuters and pedestrians.
