The Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) reported MVR 2.63 billion in revenue for June 2025, marking the highest monthly collection in five years and a 27 per cent increase from June 2024. The rise was driven by increased collections from TGST, Green Tax, and Land Acquisition Fees, supported by a surge in tourist arrivals and recent tax rate adjustments. Goods and Services Tax contributed the largest share of total revenue, with further growth expected following the TGST rate hike on July 1, 2025.
