The Maldives Meteorological Service (MET) has issued a nationwide White Alert for heavy rain, warning of adverse weather conditions across the country.

The alert is in effect from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 29 July.

According to the MET, widespread heavy rain is expected during this period, accompanied by strong gusts of wind reaching up to 45 miles per hour and rough sea conditions.

Authorities have urged residents to stay informed through official weather updates and to minimise outdoor activity during this period of severe weather.
