National carrier Maldivian has announced the launch of seaplane services to Baa Kamadhoo, with flights scheduled to begin on 11 September 2025.

The new route will be operated twice weekly, with flights available every Thursday and Saturday.

The agreement to commence the service was signed between Maldivian and Hawks Hotels during President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s visit to Kamadhoo last month. Speaking at the time, the President said the new flights would boost tourism access and create business opportunities for the island.

Kamadhoo has emerged as one of the leading tourism hubs in Baa Atoll, second only to Dharavandhoo in terms of tourist bed capacity. The atoll itself is internationally recognised for Hanifaru Bay, which attracts visitors from around the world.
