Minister of Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage Adam Naseer Ibrahim has departed for the United Arab Emirates to participate in the 25th session of the Sharjah International Narrator Forum, taking place from 22–26 September.

The visit, invited and fully funded by the Sharjah Institute of Heritage, highlights the Maldives’ growing presence in international cultural exchanges. Held under the theme “Tales of Travellers,” the forum celebrates global traditions, history, and customs while fostering the skills of storytellers and artists.

Minister Naseer is accompanied by a renowned Maldivian cultural expert recognised for outstanding contributions to preserving and protecting the nation’s heritage. The Maldivian delegation also includes performing artists who will present traditional music and dance, offering audiences a vibrant glimpse into the country’s language and cultural legacy.

Organisers say the forum provides a unique platform for Maldivian heritage and mother-tongue scholars to share their work and engage with international peers, strengthening cultural ties and promoting the Maldives on the global stage.
