President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has assured the people of Thaa Vandhoo that the harbour development and coastal protection project will begin without delay and reach completion on schedule. He made the remarks while meeting with residents during his ongoing tour of the atoll.

The President underlined the significance of the project, which will be carried out by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), describing it as vital for the island’s long-term development.

He went on to confirm that construction of the island’s mosque will be completed before next Ramadan, while the futsal ground is set to be finished later this year. A road development project for Vandhoo will also be incorporated into next year’s national budget.

Highlighting his Administration’s focus on delivering concrete progress, President Dr Muizzu stated that new initiatives in health and education would be rolled out in the coming days, with residents assured of their full implementation.

As part of his visit, the President inaugurated Bank of Maldives (BML) ATM services on the island and attended the groundbreaking ceremonies for both the Vandhoo Council Secretariat building and a new fitness centre.
