Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen has cautioned that firm action will be taken against expatriates residing in the Maldives without valid documentation.

In a post on X today, the Commissioner underscored the role of the Maldives Police Service in the ongoing operation to repatriate foreign nationals engaged in business activities without valid visas, and those profiting from such businesses.

He stressed that while expatriate workers are valued, those who enter or work in the country without proper documentation will face strict legal consequences.

Commissioner Naveen also highlighted the grave threat posed by human trafficking, describing it as a crime that exploits vulnerable individuals and undermines society. He emphasised the need for both national and international collaboration to hold traffickers accountable, safeguard human rights, and protect the dignity of all individuals.

He reaffirmed his commitment to working with partners in tackling these challenges.
