The Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO) has announced that it is fully cooperating with authorities in investigations into illegal transactions identified in previous years.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, WAMCO said it has shared all required information with relevant investigating agencies regarding issues highlighted in its internal audit reports and transactions found to be in violation of financial regulations. The company confirmed that the Auditor General’s Office, the Anti-Corruption Commission and the Maldives Police Service have been provided with documents and additional details related to multiple cases.

WAMCO added that it has always maintained transparency in providing information on such matters, assuring that all financial issues concerning public funds will be thoroughly investigated and submitted to the relevant authorities.

The corporation further assured that action would be taken against any corrupt practices linked to WAMCO, stressing that those found guilty would be held accountable.
