TradeNet Managing Director Saeedha Omar has announced that an additional 50 services will be integrated into the OneGov digital platform by the end of this year, as part of the Government’s ongoing efforts to enhance public service delivery through digital transformation.

Speaking on a programme aired by PSM News, she outlined the work being carried out to streamline and unify government services under the “Maldives 2.0” initiative. She explained that the objective is to make all government services accessible through a single platform by 2027, providing citizens with faster and easier access to essential services.

According to Saeedha, 15 Government agencies are already active on the OneGov platform, while 11 additional agencies and four local councils are currently being digitised. The platform currently offers over 400 services and provides access to more than 300 informational resources, with further expansion expected within the year.

Saeedha also noted that TradeNet is collaborating with the National Centre for Information Technology (NSP), the Ministry of Transport, and other institutions to bring more council and administrative services online. She highlighted that this will make it significantly easier for citizens to access local government services that previously required physical visits.

Launched in 2023, the OneGov platform initially provided business-related services from five agencies on a first-come, first-served basis. Since then, the platform has evolved to include a wide range of citizen-oriented services, aligning with President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s vision of building a digitally empowered Maldives.
