Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC) has launched a global promotion campaign to position the Maldives as a premier destination for luxury yacht tourism.

Running from September to December 2025, the initiative targets high-net-worth individuals travelling on private and chartered superyachts, as part of ongoing efforts to expand and diversify the nation’s tourism sector.

The campaign showcases the Maldives’ pristine waters, diverse marine life, and world-class experiences tailored for yacht owners, captains, charterers, and brokers.

By aligning the destination with Monaco’s prestige and Asia’s growing yachting routes, the initiative aims to strengthen the Maldives’ standing as a key stop along the Indian Ocean’s luxury maritime network.

As part of the campaign, the Maldives was represented at the Monaco Yacht Show, one of the world’s most prestigious superyacht events. Activities included strategic meetings with international yachting professionals, outreach to more than 6,000 industry stakeholders, and targeted exposure in leading luxury and yachting publications. The campaign also features a Maldives showcase on the Spice Route website, the publication of a dedicated brochure, and a series of digital and social media initiatives to increase global reach.

VMC’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Ibrahim Shiuree, stated that the campaign reflects the Maldives’ ambition to become the leading luxury superyacht destination in the Indian Ocean. He noted that by strengthening the country’s participation in international events and engaging directly with global industry leaders, the initiative aims to capture an emerging market segment and enhance the Maldives’ profile among high-net-worth travellers.

The campaign comes as the Maldives continues to record steady growth in arrivals, with 1,594,616 visitors registered as of 22 September 2025.
