A campsite has been opened near Malé City after 15 years, providing a dedicated space for cadets, scouts, and guides to engage in outdoor and educational activities.

The facility, located at CROSSROADS, was inaugurated by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu as part of an initiative developed by Dream Islands Development under its social responsibility commitments.

The campsite spans three hectares and is equipped with an administrative office, a first aid room, a day room, and a mosque. Minister of Education Dr Ismail Shafeeu, speaking at the ceremony, said the facility would support students in a range of academic and extracurricular programmes, from research-based projects to skills development.

The lack of a proper campsite near the capital had long been a concern, particularly for youth groups. The new facility aims to fill that gap and encourage educational and recreational opportunities for young people in the Maldives.
