President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended his congratulations to Dr Patrick Herminie on his election as the new President of the Republic of Seychelles, following the country’s presidential election held earlier this week.

In his congratulatory message, President Muizzu wished Dr Herminie success in his new role and expressed confidence that Seychelles would continue to achieve progress and prosperity under his leadership.

Dr Herminie, leader of the United Seychelles Party, secured victory in the national election, succeeding President Wavel Ramkalawan. His election marks a significant political shift in Seychelles, with Herminie pledging to focus on strengthening the economy, enhancing social welfare, and promoting regional cooperation.

Reaffirming the Maldives’ close and friendly relations with Seychelles, President Dr Muizzu said he looks forward to working closely with President Herminie to deepen bilateral ties and cooperation, particularly in addressing shared challenges such as climate change, marine conservation, and sustainable development.

President Dr Muizzu concluded his message by extending best wishes for President Herminie’s health and for the continued peace and prosperity of the Seychellois people.
