Individuals elected to represent broadcasters and other media sectors have been officially appointed to the Maldives Media and Broadcasting Commission, in line with the Maldives Media and Broadcasting Act (Act No. 16/2025).

The appointments were made following elections held under Article 17(2) of the Act and were formally confirmed under Article 21(g).

Those appointed as representatives of broadcasters are Abdul Azeez Ibrahim from Sh. Feydhoo and Zam’ath Ahmed Waheed from GDh. Thinadhoo. The representatives of other media sectors are Simaha Naseem from GDh. Rathafandhoo and Husain Sageef from HDh. Vaikaradhoo.

The Maldives Media and Broadcasting Commission is composed of seven members, three appointed by the Parliament and four elected in accordance with the Act, to oversee the regulation and development of the country’s media and broadcasting landscape.
