The Bank of Maldives (BML) has celebrated the graduation of 20 employees from the Leadership and People Management Programme conducted by the Singapore Management University (SMU).

The graduates received the Executive Certificate in Leadership and People Management, following a rigorous programme that combined discussion-based teaching, case studies, and practical exercises designed to strengthen leadership capabilities within the banking sector.

An additional 20 employees also received the Certificate in Leadership and People Management through the BML Academy after completing a certificate-level programme offered in collaboration with SMU.

BML’s CEO and Managing Director, Mohamed Shareef, described the initiative as a strategic investment in the Bank’s human capital, highlighting leadership development as a key driver of long-term success. He said the partnership with SMU supports the Bank’s efforts to build a strong leadership foundation capable of navigating future challenges in the financial sector.

As part of this commitment, the BML Academy remains the institution’s hub for professional development, providing both local and international training opportunities. The Bank’s focus on employee growth has earned recognition from the World HRD Congress and the Employer Branding Institute, which named BML as one of “Asia’s Best Employer Brands.”
