The Maldives Meteorological Service (MET) has forecast strong winds and rough seas across the country over the next three days, as the southwest monsoon continues to intensify.

According to MET, monsoon conditions are expected to strengthen further during this period. While the weather will remain windy, heavy rainfall is not anticipated. Winds are expected to reach speeds of up to 45 miles per hour in some areas.

A white alert has been issued for the central and southern atolls from 3:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. today due to strong winds. The agency also cautioned that sea conditions will remain rough, particularly in areas experiencing strong gusts.

Authorities have advised all parties, especially seafarers, to check the latest weather updates before travelling or setting sail.
