Maldives Polytechnic has launched the “Uthuru Huvadhoo Fannu Expo 2025”, a special cultural and skills exhibition now open in Gaafu Alifu Villingili. 

The expo, which officially opened on 22 November, will run daily from 4 pm to 10 pm.

The event aims to celebrate the richness of Maldivian culture and highlight traditional skills that are gradually fading. 

The expo showcases a diverse range of work, including paintings, wood carvings, calligraphy, and other artistic creations, offering visitors an opportunity to appreciate the creativity and craftsmanship found across the region.

As part of its efforts to preserve local craftsmanship, Maldives Polytechnic has been conducting training programmes for youth in areas such as woodcarving, electrical work, guesthouse management, and welding.

These programmes are also being expanded across various atolls to ensure the preservation of Maldivian heritage at the community level.
