Hithadhoo North MP Mohamed Sinan has commended Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Mohamed Ihusaan for personally assisting victims following a traffic accident on the highway on Saturday evening.

The incident occurred while Minister Ihusaan was travelling home, during which he stopped to help an injured individual and transported the victim to the hospital in his official vehicle for urgent medical attention.

In a post shared on X, accompanied by video footage of the incident, MP Sinan said the Minister’s actions demonstrated the importance of compassion and responsibility in times of emergency, regardless of position or authority.

He noted that such conduct sets a positive example for younger generations and added that extending help in difficult moments is both a social responsibility and an Islamic value.

According to the Maldives Police Service, the accident occurred at around 6:35 pm and involved two motorcyclists, both of whom sustained injuries. The injured men were taken to Hulhumalé Hospital for treatment.

Police said further details regarding the incident were being assessed.
