President to meet Maafannu residents tomorrow

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu is scheduled to meet with residents of Maafannu on Thursday as part of ongoing consultations on the development of the Greater Malé Region.

Chief Spokesperson at the President’s Office, Heena Waleed, announced that the meeting will take place on 4 December 2025 at 8:30 p.m. at Thaajuddeen School, and residents of Maafannu have been invited to attend.

The meeting forms part of the Government’s efforts to gather public input on development priorities and urban planning, in order to ensure that projects in Malé, Hulhumalé, and Villimalé reflect the needs and expectations of local communities.

So far, the President has held similar meetings with residents of Vilimalé and Machchangolhi, where he listened to public concerns and outlined upcoming development plans.

In addition, the President has visited inhabited islands, meeting with local councils and community members to discuss infrastructure, public services, and regional development across the country.
