Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC) has launched Creatoll, a global content creator platform aimed at promoting authentic Maldivian storytelling and connecting creators with tourism partners, brands, and international markets.

The platform was unveiled during the Maldives Culture and Food Festival 2025 at Hulhumalé Central Park by Minister of Tourism and Environment Thoriq Ibrahim.

According to VMC, Creatoll is structured as a digital marketplace where Maldivian and international creators can showcase, license, and earn from original content that highlights island life, culture, nature, and local experiences. The initiative aims to diversify destination marketing and increase the Maldives’ visibility in global travel and creative sectors.

At launch, the platform features curated visual material from across the country, with plans to expand into additional creative categories as the project develops. The concept is positioned to support both emerging and established creators by offering professional visibility, licensing options, and access to commercial opportunities abroad.

VMC stated that the platform is designed to benefit Maldivian creators by providing access to audiences and partnerships that were previously difficult to reach, while also enabling international contributors to participate if their work reflects the Maldives in an accurate and place-led manner. The organisation described the approach as an effort to ensure that destination-related content remains rooted in lived experiences rather than promotional staging.

The launch of Creatoll is part of Visit Maldives Corporation’s strategy to strengthen market positioning, expand tourism-linked creative industries, and increase collaboration between Government, private sector partners, and the creative community.
