The Managing Director of Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation, Hamdhan Shakeel, has confirmed that the keys to 4,000 housing units being developed by the corporation will be handed over by 25 January.

Responding to a question by MMTV, Hamdhan said the process of awarding the flats is currently underway, adding that most recipients are residing outside Malé City and have requested that key handovers take place after the 5th of this month. In response, the handover schedule is proceeding accordingly, with arrangements being made to accommodate recipients’ availability.

Those selected to receive the housing units have been instructed to submit the required documentation to FDC via email, including a copy of their national identification card. The corporation stated that the handover process is progressing as planned and is expected to be completed by the second week of January, ahead of the previously projected timeline.

The assurance provided is that all keys for the 4,000 flats will be handed over before 25 January. The housing project, which had reached only 32 per cent completion despite a substantial loan taken by the previous MDP administration, was completed following the current government’s intervention, which delivered the remaining 68 per cent of the works.

According to FDC, the current Administration has completed the installation, testing and commissioning of water and sewerage systems in all towers of Aman Udharas and Aman Hiya. Water boosting systems have also been installed to ensure uninterrupted water supply to all housing units.
