Applications have opened for the Australia Awards Scholarships for the 2027 academic year, with the deadline set for 30 April 2026.

Successful applicants will receive a comprehensive scholarship package that includes a return airfare, establishment allowance, monthly stipend, tuition fees, living allowance and health insurance.

The Ministry of Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development (MoHE) said the selection of candidates will be carried out entirely by the scholarship provider. The Ministry noted that application requirements, eligible fields of study and further details are available on both the Ministry’s website and the Australia Awards website.

MoHE emphasised that applicants selected for Australia Awards courses must ensure the institution offering the programme is recognised by the Maldives Qualifications Authority (MQA), and that the chosen course is approved by the Authority.

The Ministry also advised candidates selected for professional or licensing programmes to confirm that their courses are recognised by the relevant regulatory bodies before departing to undertake their studies.
