State Minister of Cities, Local Government and Public Works Uz Moosa Fathuhee Adam has said the distribution of canned tuna cases under the Roadha Hadhiyaa programme is being carried out with the full cooperation of State agencies, councils and the public, describing the initiative as a national effort embraced by the people.
Speaking on MMTV’s Bodu Khabaru programme, Uz Fathuhee said the programme is being implemented in an orderly manner and that feedback from the public so far has been positive.
“This is being carried out with the cooperation of State-owned companies, key Government agencies, councils and the general public as a truly national initiative,” he said.
Uz Fathuhee noted that employees involved in the distribution are working with a strong sense of national responsibility. He said members of the public are collecting canned tuna cases with enthusiasm distribution centres in Greater Malé area.
A total of 118,673 households are set to receive canned tuna cases under this year’s Roadha Hadhiyaa programme. This includes 56,918 households in the atolls and 61,755 households in the Malé area.
The State Minister said extensive preparations were required to ensure smooth implementation of the programme. These included strengthening tuna production, managing distribution within the Malé area, and arranging the delivery of tuna cases to the atolls. He said the work was completed through the collective efforts of many individuals and institutions.
Uz Fathuhee added that the Roadha Hadhiyaa programme is proceeding smoothly this year as well, noting that President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s Administration is implementing the initiative in a transparent and accessible manner.
