The Ministry of Social and Family Development, in collaboration with Maldives Polytechnic, has launched special training programs aimed at enhancing skills and employment opportunities for people with disabilities.

The initiative introduces certificate-level three courses in photography and art skills, designed with teaching and assessment methods tailored to the specific needs of participants. Under this programme, the photography program focuses on practical training in camera use, photographic equipment, and editing techniques, while the art skills course develops drawing and creative work using various tools.

The six-month program will train 22 participants, who will receive a Level Three certificate accredited by the Maldives Qualifications Authority (MQA) upon completion. The Ministry highlighted that the primary objective is to boost productivity and technical skills, thereby improving employability for persons with disabilities.
