The Ministry of Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development (MoHE) has launched a new portal, Kuri, aimed at strengthening and streamlining services provided to students.
The Kuri Portal was inaugurated by Minister of Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development Dr Ali Haidar Ahmed at a ceremony held on Tuesday.
The Ministry said the system is an important step in improving the management of the higher education sector, offering a more efficient and accessible approach for students, parents and service providers. During the launch event, students were given a live demonstration on how to use the platform.
Students attending the ceremony said the system would significantly improve convenience, noting that many services previously handled through email can now be accessed directly through the portal. This includes tracking the status of student loan payments and accessing relevant information in real time.
The Ministry said the Government has placed high priority on delivering reliable and timely education services that meet students’ needs. It added that the new system is expected to play a key role in addressing financial and administrative challenges faced by students.
As part of wider efforts to support students, steps are also being taken to improve assistance for those studying abroad under Government schemes. The Ministry recently announced that it is reviewing stipend rates to better reflect current living costs.
