The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and the Maldives National University (MNU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on initiatives aimed at preventing corruption and strengthening integrity across institutions.
The MoU was signed at a ceremony held at MNU, by ACC President Uz Adam Shamil and MNU by Vice Chancellor Aishath Shehenaz Adam.
According to ACC, the agreement is intended to formalise cooperation between the two institutions to jointly identify and implement measures to prevent corruption, while establishing a structured mechanism to coordinate the implementation of the Commission’s recommendations.
Under the agreement, ACC will work with MNU to conduct seminars and workshops aimed at strengthening integrity among employees. The two institutions will also collaborate on awareness programmes for State institutions and organisations, as well as the development of courses focused on promoting accountability in public governance.
ACC said the agreement also provides for MNU’s involvement in supporting anti-corruption policy development by offering technical advice, assisting with research on integrity, and contributing to the publication of related academic work.
ACC said the training and research initiatives carried out under the agreement are expected to contribute to strengthening ethical values in society and reinforcing institutional integrity.
