Practical work has commenced on the new Maldives National University (MNU) campus in Baa Eydhafushi, with the project inaugurated by Minister of Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development Dr Ali Haidar Ahmed. The campus development project is valued at MVR 80.9 million and is scheduled for completion within 720 days.

The campus will be built on 6,000 square feet of land leased in Eydhafushi and will include a staff accommodation block, a two-storey administrative building, a two-storey classroom block and additional academic facilities. MNU already operates campuses in several atolls, while efforts are ongoing to expand the university’s presence to other regions across the country.
