Maldives Hajj Corporation has announced that the medical clinic established in Makkah will now provide services to all Maldivians travelling for Hajj and Umrah.

The clinic, which has been in operation for the past two years, was established through a collaboration between the Government and Maldives Hajj Corporation to address common health issues faced by Maldivians travelling to Makkah for pilgrimage.

Previously, medical services at the clinic were limited to Hajj pilgrims and Umrah pilgrims travelling under packages arranged by the Hajj Corporation. However, under the newly introduced policy, services have now been extended to all Maldivians travelling for Hajj and Umrah, including those visiting through private travel groups as well as Maldivians residing in Makkah during the pilgrimage period.

The clinic operates under standards approved by the Saudi Ministry of Health and is run through an agreement between Maldives Hajj Corporation and Saudi National Hospital. The facility was established at the Hajj Corporation hotel in Makkah in collaboration with Abir Hospital.

According to the Hajj Corporation, the clinic is equipped to provide a range of basic healthcare services required by pilgrims. Fever, flu and other common illnesses are among the most frequently reported health concerns during the pilgrimage period, and the availability of immediate medical attention helps prevent such conditions from worsening.

Maldivian doctors and nurses are deployed to the clinic through a medical pool established by the Hajj Corporation. Healthcare professionals registered in the pool are given the opportunity to travel to Makkah to provide medical support during Hajj and Umrah seasons.

The establishment of the clinic has helped ease the financial and logistical burden faced by Maldivian pilgrims seeking medical care abroad, while ensuring timely treatment for common health conditions during pilgrimage.
