Maldives Police Service has conducted a nationwide “Walk and Talk” initiative across different parts of the country.
Police stated that the activity was carried out to meet members of the public and obtain their views and feedback. During the initiative, officers met residents in various areas and held discussions on matters raised by the community.
In the Malé City area, Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusaan and Acting Commissioner of Police Farhad Fikry also took part in the activity. Senior police officials and a number of police officers participated as well.
Police said the initiative is part of efforts to engage with the public and gather information on issues affecting communities. As part of the programme, officers visited homes and also met residents on the streets.
A similar “Walk and Talk” activity was previously conducted in the Malé area on 28 February. Police stated that such initiatives assist in supporting police operations and investigations.
