Foreign Minister returns after official visit to Oman

Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Abdulla Khaleel has returned to Malé following a successful official visit to the Sultanate of Oman at the invitation of Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi, Oman’s Foreign Minister.
The visit marked a significant step in enhancing relations between Maldives and Oman through high-level meetings and the signing of two key agreements.
During the visit, Minister Dr Khaleel called on Sayyed Asaad bin Tariq Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Special Representative of His Majesty the Sultan. He was accompanied by Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi for the discussions.
The Minister engaged in comprehensive talks with his Omani counterpart, reviewing the longstanding bilateral ties between the two nations. The discussion focused on strengthening cooperation in education, trade, tourism, and investment promotion.
He also held meetings with Sultan bin Salim bin Said Al Habsi, Minister of Finance, and Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, alongside other Omani dignitaries, to discuss areas of mutual interest.
The visit culminated in the signing of two pivotal agreements:
Accompanying Minister Dr Khaleel on this visit were senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including Dr Hala Hameed, Secretary for Bilateral Affairs, Fathimath Naeema, Senior Under Secretary, and Mohamed Shujau, Assistant Director.
