The Maldives Digital Service, in collaboration with the World Bank, has officially launched the Maldives Digital Summit 2026 on Monday.

The summit is being held at Barceló Nasandhura and will run until 29 April.

The event is organised to advance the Maldives’ Digital-First transformation agenda, with a focus on driving forward the Government’s Maldives 2.0 vision. The summit provides a platform for discussions on key initiatives outlined in the Maldives 2.0 roadmap and efforts to achieve its strategic objectives.

Global leaders, international policymakers and digital transformation experts are participating in the summit, contributing to efforts aimed at strengthening digital public infrastructure.

Keynote speakers will feature Iurie Turcanu, former Deputy Prime Minister for Digitalisation of Moldova; Dr Yoon-seok Ko, Vice President at National Information Society Agency (NIA) of South Korea; and Vyjayanti Desa, Practice Manager at the World Bank.

The summit will cover several key themes, including governance and institutional coordination for digital transformation, secure and interoperable data sharing through a national data exchange platform, citizen-centric service delivery, digital identity systems and trusted digital transactions, as well as the responsible use of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.

Maldives 2.0 is the Government’s national digital transformation initiative, focused on improving Government service delivery, supporting economic growth, and expanding access to essential information across the country.
