Vice President of the Maldives, Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef, attended a Welcome Banquet hosted by the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) on December 15, 2024.

The banquet, held in honour of delegates participating in the Third China-Indian Ocean Region Forum on Blue Economy Development Cooperation, celebrated international collaboration and cultural exchange.

The event featured speeches by the Chairman of CIDC, Luo Zhaohui, and the Governor of Yunnan Province, Wang Yubo.

A traditional music performance showcased the richness of China's heritage, underscoring the importance of cultural ties in fostering regional partnerships, and adding a cultural touch. 

The Vice President is set to deliver his opening remarks at the forum’s third inaugural session.

The forum, a high-level official development cooperation platform, focuses on fostering collaboration between China and Indian Ocean Region countries to advance sustainable blue economy initiatives.
