Minister of Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage Ahmed Naseer Ibrahim has stated that President Dr Mohamed Muizzu is building a strong and just system of governance based on integrity, public consultation, and long-term vision.

Speaking at this year’s Republic Day ceremony, the Minister said that a good leader must uphold integrity and justice, give priority to religious ethics, and value the opinions and consultations of the people. He added that a strong leader is one who formulates and shapes policies with foresight and a focus on sustainable national progress.

Minister Naseer emphasised that the fundamental purpose of the transition from a monarchy to a republic was to ensure that governance benefits the people. He said that in a republic, a leader elected by the people must govern with loyalty, honesty, and accountability to the public.

The Minister also referred to the writings and teachings of Islamic scholars, noting that a good leader should have the ability to distinguish between right and wrong according to Islamic principles and a deep understanding of the people’s circumstances and challenges.
