The Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Infrastructure has issued registries to more than 2,200 recipients of land plots from Kaafu Gulhifalhu under the Government’s Binveriyaa Scheme.

According to the Ministry, a total of 2,241 recipients out of 3,548 have received their registries since the distribution process began on 12 July 2025.

The Gulhifalhu reclamation project, awarded to Dutch company Boskalis for MVR 2 billion, commenced in July 2024. While the initial land draw was conducted under the previous administration, the current Government has since revised the island’s land-use plan twice. A re-draw was held on 30 May this year, with registry issuance now proceeding based on the updated plan.

The Ministry has also amended the Gulhifalhu land plot agreement, citing inconsistencies with existing laws.

Recipients collecting their registries are required to present their original National Identity Card. If a representative is collecting on behalf of a recipient, they must present an original power of attorney and their own original National Identity Card.
