President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended his condolences to the government and people of Türkiye following the crash of a Turkish military cargo plane in Georgia near the Azerbaijan border.

In his message, President Dr Muizzu conveyed heartfelt sympathies to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the government, and the brotherly people of Türkiye, particularly to the families of those who lost their lives in the tragedy. He prayed for the deceased to be granted eternal paradise and for their loved ones to be blessed with strength and patience during this difficult time.

President Dr Muizzu also expressed confidence that the ongoing search and rescue operations would be swift and successful, reaffirming that the Maldives stands in solidarity with Türkiye during this time of national loss.
